Dr. Black is a Premier
Invisalign® Specialist
As a
Premier Invisalign Specialist, Dr. Black ranks among the top
5% of all doctors who are Invisalign clinicians in North America.
This is a special title that has been bestowed upon Dr. Black by
Align Technology (the parent company for Invisalign). In order to
be a Premier Invisalign
specialist, Dr. Black has had to demonstrate an exceptional level of
clinical experience with Invisalign treatment and complete extensive
clinical education requirements. As one of the most experienced
Invisalign doctors in the country, Dr. Black is also certified to
offer "Invisalign Express". Invisalign Express is an accelerated
Invisalign treatment where treatment can be completed in 5 months or
less. Invisalign Express is a perfect choice for correcting any
minor crowding or spacing of the teeth. Consider Invisalign to get
the beautiful straight teeth you've always wanted – without braces.
A complimentary consultation with Dr. Black can determine if
Invisalign is right for you. Invisalign is your
wireless connection to straight teeth
and a smile for a lifetime .
How does it work?
You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position Dr.
Black has prescribed. You'll visit Dr. Black about once every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages 9-15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.

Step 1: Visit Dr. Black
During this first step you will need to make an
appointment with Dr. Black. During the initial visit, Dr.
Black will help you decide on your course of treatment. He
will take bite impressions of your teeth and send them,
along with a set of precise instructions, to Invisalign. |
Step 2: Invisalign Makes your Aligners
Invisalign uses advanced 3-D computer imaging technology
to transform your bite impressions into a custom-made series
of clear and removable aligners. There may be as many as 48
in the series or as few as 12, depending on your individual
treatment plan. |
Step 3: You receive your aligners in a
few weeks.
During your next visit to your orthodontist, you will
receive your first set aligners. Your doctor will most
likely give you a few additional sets for you to wear before
you return for your next visit. |
Step 4: You wear your aligners.
You'll wear each set of aligners day and night for about
2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss.
Total treatment time averages 9-15 months, but will vary
from case to case. You'll visit your doctor only about every
6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as
planned. |
Step 5: You've finished treatment!
Congratulations! When you're finished wearing each
aligner in the series, your treatment will be complete and
you will have the beautiful smile you've always wanted. |
What is it?
Invisalign uses a
series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one
can tell you're wearing. So you can smile more during treatment as
well as after. Invisalign is made with 3-D computer imaging
technology, and has been proven effective. Hundreds of thousands
of patients have been successfully treated with Invisalign.
Dr. Black is a Premier Invisalign specialist and ranks in the top 5%
of all doctors in North America who treat patients with Invisalign
Why would I want it?
Not only are the
aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink
what you want while in treatment, plus brushing and flossing are no
problem. They are also comfortable, with no metal to cause mouth
abrasions during treatment. And no metal and wires usually means you
spend less time in Dr. Black’s office getting adjustments.
Invisalign is the only form of orthodontic treatment that allows
you to view all the changes to your teeth from start to finish.

The Technology Behind Invisalign
| You may wonder what goes on at Invisalign
between the time Dr. Black takes impressions of your teeth
and when you receive your first set of aligners. State of
the art computer technology plays a vital role in the
process. In fact, Invisalign's high-volume, customized
manufacturing process is the first of its kind in the world.
The diagram below shows some of the ways advanced computer
technology fits into the Invisalign process. |
| |
| |
To ensure a high degree of accuracy
throughout the process, impressions are taken of your teeth
by Dr. Black. |
Dr. Black sends Invisalign your impressions
which are used to make plaster models of your teeth. |
Using advanced imaging technology,
Invisalign transforms your plaster models into a highly
accurate 3-D digital image. |
A computerized movie - called ClinCheck® -
depicting the movement of your teeth from the beginning to
the final position is created. |
Using the Internet, the Dr. Black reviews
your ClinCheck file - if necessary, adjustments to the
depicted plan are made. |
From your approved ClinCheck file,
Invisalign uses laser scanning to build a set of actual
models that reflect each stage of your treatment plan. |
Your customized set of aligners are made
from these models, sent to Dr. Black, and given to you. You
wear each aligner for about two weeks.
After wearing all of your aligners in the
series, you get the beautiful smile you've always wanted. |
